To better provide a community and family oriented environment, we have
hosted a number of functions inviting clients, volunteers, therapists,
directors and their respective families and friends . . .summer barbeques,
horseback riding, food, story telling,a group outing to the Horse Whisperer's
show with two of our Appys, All Saints Eve and birthday celebrations . .
We view the clients as an integral part of the society and its
functions. A session most often includes psychotherapy, a shared meal and
equine assisted therapy. Traditional boundaries have been modified to enhance
the community atmosphere. The Board, in discussions with clients, has learned
that emphasis on equality and respect increases the level of safety and
belonging enjoyed by the clients.
